After other less-than-successful attempts to make Internet TV mainstream, Google is trying its hand at the idea.

This fall, Google will come out with Google TV, a service that combines Internet access, Android applications, and on-demand programming all in one device. Apple vs. Android: Which OS Outpaces the Other?

Apple has just reached its 10,000th native iPad application, doubling the size of the iPad App Store in just over six weeks. The milestone itself comes just two months after the release of the tablet device, though it’s but a fraction of the total number of applications available for both Apple’s iPad and iPhone: more than 200,000, as of Memorial Day last month.

This summer, it seems everyone’s craving the cool taste of frozen yogurt. Google’s newest version of its Android operating system, Android 2.2 — better known by its nickname, “Froyo” — is expected to start hitting handsets any day now. But there’s still plenty of confusion over which phones will get Froyo and which will be left in the cold.
